The Best Hotel Swimming Pool in Miami Beach
Some hotels don’t simply offer a place to stay — they transport you into another era. The moment you step inside the iconic National Hotel Miami Beach, you feel it immediately: classic Art Deco glamour, swaying palms, and the effortless elegance that defines old Miami Beach.
Tucked along Collins Avenue in the heart of South Beach, the historic property has a timeless charm that feels worlds away from the fast pace of the city just outside its doors. During my visit, I checked in with my friend Jasmine for a quick coastal escape—and somehow we managed to experience everything we hoped to in just a short time.
We arrived in the afternoon and headed straight for the pool, which is truly one of the highlights of the property. The National Hotel is home to one of the longest and most iconic pool scenes in Miami Beach, a dramatic infinity-edge pool that stretches through a lush garden of towering palms toward the ocean. At the entrance to the pool, a beautiful nautical compass mosaic welcomes guests — a subtle nod to Miami’s coastal heritage and the spirit of exploration that defines the city. It’s adult only, which is one of the contributing factors as to why it’s considered one of the best hotel swimming pools in Miami Beach.
We claimed a pair of loungers and ordered lunch from the pool bar, which surprised me with a menu far more extensive than typical poolside fare. Fresh salads, seafood, and light bites made it easy to linger for hours while soaking up the warm Miami sun.
As the afternoon drifted toward evening, we wandered down to the beach just in time for sunset. With two chairs facing the Atlantic and drinks in hand, it was one of those effortless South Beach moments that reminds you why people fall in love with Miami.
Dinner that evening was at the hotel’s celebrated Spanish restaurant, Mareva 1939. The atmosphere felt transportive, with live music and warm lighting that made the entire experience feel like a small escape to Spain. Their paella was unforgettable—rich, flavorful, and perfect for sharing.
The next morning began with a quiet walk along the shoreline just after sunrise. There’s something magical about Miami Beach before the crowds arrive—the soft morning light, the sound of the waves, and the calm rhythm of the ocean.
After breakfast on the balcony, it was time to head home, feeling refreshed after a beautiful South Beach experience.
Sometimes the best travel moments are the simplest ones—sun, sea, good company, and a hotel that captures the spirit of a destination perfectly.
